First session at the Children's Media Conference in Sheffield, kicks off with a survey of kids faves. Seems that music beats computer games by 1% but nice to know music is in there. Football was tops - this is boys by the way. We must keep music options available in school.
Lord (David) Puttnam gave a great opening keynote last night encouraging schools & teachers to embrace all the new technology. I was only one of two delegates who had heard of composer Eric Whiteacre's worldwide Internet choir. David very excited, like me, by this sought of artistic collaboration.
You know, I think if Lord Puttnam had pronounced Eric Whitacre's name correctly more people, myself included, would have put up their hand!
Great to meet you at the pitch it session yesterday by the way.
